My New ETSY Jewellery Shop

Hello people of the planet! So the other day in a bid to be productive I decided to set up my own Etsy shop. I think I’ve always wanted to do something enterprising/creative of my own, so heck why not do it now?! Its very small atm but it’s best start it that way before it bellyflopsbackwards am I right haha.

With only a couple of pieces I have handmade myself they are effortless boho, choker necktie necklaces. My new Etsy shop is under the name The Daiisy Club (one i was already taken haha) -not blondewaves like my blog name, I just randomly thought of it and really liked it. I might even consider changing my blog name to that haha, what do you think?Anyways I’ll leave you to check them out and tell me what you think…

REFRESH YOUR LIFE WITH M I N I M A L I S M ?

We live in an age where our lives are cluttered with new information, technology and material things everyday. Minimalism is defined as a style of technique that is characterised by extreme sparingness or simplicity and it is something that you probably have heard of. Until recently minimalism was something that I only every associated with style, interior, art, but I had never considered it as a lifestyle. I know myself that I like a bit of clutter and I don’t like my surroundings to be too neat, too perfect, sometimes I just like to embrace the mess and let my creativity flow hahah. However living in such an ever changing time where things have become very materialistic for us I’m beginning to feel maybe some sort of a ‘lifestyle detox’ could be in need! To live a minimalist life is to be able to look at what I own and pick out the essentials and clear out the rest of the junk so that I am not burdened by ‘stuff’. Now don’t get me wrong we all have our little unimportant nick-nacks that we will keep, but are all of them really that important? In the grand scheme of things what do you actually need? Objects do not define us or our memories and we will still be there with or without them but they act more as memory triggers which is why we probably find it so hard to get rid of sentimental things.

“WE HAVE TRADED OUR FREEDOM FOR OVERFILLED CLOSETS AND OUR PASSIONS FOR UNNECESSARY MAINTENENCE”

Minimalism is not about living with as little as possible but about removing the excess from your life so that you have a clear space the breath in. This idea has inspired me to give it a try this new year, to remove unnecessary items and focus on using the essentials.

Here  are some steps that I going to take to make my life more minimalist in the New Year and you should give a go to! :

  • I am going to have a massive closet clear out because that is loooong overdue as I don’t wear half the stuff I own anymore, I will probably put most of it on depop – waste not want not!
  • It is also a good idea to clear out duplicates, do you really need 2 of the same scissors?
  • Get rid of physical clutter and don’t just hid it! Just because it is out of sight doesn’t mean it is out of mind- it can have a big negative impact on our stress levels
  • Buy less – only buy it if it is absolutely NEEDED – “minimalism is asking why before you buy” Francine Jay
  • Spend less time on social media and try to limit it to only a couple times a day. This can be hard but it’s important to start living in the now and stop living on our phones – a good step towards this would be to turn on notifications

There are so many more things that can be done but I think that this is a good start. I am looking forward to sharing with you how it all turns out in a month or so! Hopefully I will have succeeded and I hope that this inspires you too to try incorporate a bit of minimalism into your life because sometimes the only way to find out what is really important is to get rid of everything that isn’t. Let me know what you think I’d love to hear!
