Someday This Day Destinations

Spending hours on end on pinterest I start to discover more and more incredible places (not to mention things to do) that I just keep adding to my bucket list – I’m beginning to think I don’t know how I’ll achieve them all! Inspired by my finds I have put together 10 amazing places that I want to travel to my lifetime. I hope you’ll find them just as awesome as I do!

Petra

Petra translates to ‘rock’ and it’s the ruins of an ancient city that was carved into red mountain rock in Southern Jordanian. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site it is full of history and of archaeological importance. It is so fascinating to have an entire city built into rock and I think a visit would make you feel like you’ve been pulled back in time.

Do I even need to explain how cool this is?! Just look at it!!

Temples of Angkor Wat

Located in Cambodia this looks like something straight out of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and thats because it is! I love how the trees look like they are just clambering over. Camouflaged by its surroundings this place just looks so beautifully mysterious.

Tyantszi Mountains of China

Number one you’ll get to see the Great Wall of China, a sight in itself. Number two you’ll get to see some incredible views! This kinda reminds me of the floating mountains in Avatar, can you imagine if you climbed – ha I don’t think so!

Egyptian Pyramids

Would this list even be complete without this? It would have been awesome to see them in their heyday when they were all smooth kinda like the top part of them. Egyptian history is one of my favourites, I have always been fascinated by it and as much as I want to go see the pyramids I’m slightly put off by the fact that the amount of tourism can be seriously damaging them like eroding them – you even get the occasional vandals which is awful. If you do go be careful because there are a lot of scammers and it gets pretty crowded. If I go to Egypt I think to go visit somewhere more off the beaten track would be good. Such as Dashur Pyramids, Siwa Oasis, Farafra (This amazing white desert) or Alexandria and its fabulous underwater ruins.

Haiku Stairs – Hawaii

Also known as the stairway to heaven, these are found on the Island of Oahu. As beautiful as they look if you want to go you best be prepared for a steep hike – but I’m pretty sure it would be well worth it! Sadly its closed however apparently people still routinely hike up when the guards not there – I think there’s even videos on youtube! I’m going to ask my cousin who lives in Hawaii about them to find out more so I can update on here whether it is actually possible to hike up!

DIY Room Decor Ideas – Cheap & Easy!

Heya guys! How are you today?

So recently I have been feeling really creative and I can’t stop watching various DIY videos on youtube! One channel I recently discovered is Microscope Beauty and she does these amazingly addictive ‘Plan with me’ videos where she plans and decorates her diary for the week. She uses all the awesome stickers and really transforms the pages. It’s hard to describe but they are just so interesting to watch – you should definitely check them out!

Anyway a combination of that and DIY videos and pinterest has just got my creative juices flowing haha. I just want to decorate my room and organise everything really prettily haha. But… since I’m not at uni I can’t decorate my new room just yet, so I thought I would put together a collection of some of my favourite DIY room decor that are super affordable and easy to do! Lets pimp my imaginary room!!!

WASHI TAPE

Washi tape is absolutely amazing, I’ve seen it used to decorate so many things from laptops to lamps. One of my fav ways to use it is as a replacement for picture frames. If you don’t want to splurge on a big frame and your picture is fairly flat then washi tape is a great cheap alternative. You can get numerous colours and tapes on ebay or easy for only a few pounds!

Socket Decor

I love the idea of surrounding ugly plug sockets with a colourful pattern. Simply print off your chosen pattern (or draw one) and cut it to fit the plug socket (making sure it doesn’t cover the actual socket). You can then stick it down with some double sided sticky tape!

Water Colour Cushions

These DIY watercolour cushions are the perfect way to add some subtle colour to any room. They look so air and elegant! You can find out how to make these here with ellaclaireinspired

This is another one of my favourite DIY ideas where you basically just paint a pretty pattern on a pebble! I think you go even further with this and for instance paint slates for drinks/place mats – the possibilities are endless. It’s also totally easy to find great pattern inspiration on the likes of pinterest and if you aren’t good at art you could simply print off a stencil!

Shapes

Chose a shape, get some colourful paper (or even go minimal and use one colour like black) and chop it into lots of your chosen shapes. Then you can blue tack up on your wall or canvas in an arranged pattern or mosaic style or even totally random. This can be amazingly effective and its such a simple idea too!

The Coolest Tea Light Ever!!

This is the coolest upcycling idea that I have seen in a long time and it is so so easy to do. Just cut off the bottom of a can (carefully aha) and poke holes around the letters using a needle – like in this Coke you can see below. Then you can use it as an awesome tea light! Don’t forget you can experiment with this by poking holes in different patterns such as circles!
